In Bruges
After a hit gone wrong, Irish hitmen (Colin Farrell and Brendan Gleeson) are ordered to lay-low and play tourist in a sleepy Flemish town. With Gleeson's mature calm offset by Farrell's youthful apathy, what we have is an intriguing, unpredictable, crime comedy.
The Hammer
The story of a down-and-out drywall man's return to competitive boxing. You needn't be a fan of Adam Carolla's dry, working-class, sarcasm to like this movie and find it strangely endearing. It’s only fault is that the dialogue runs a little like a stand-up routine.
MUSIC
Little Dragon “Recommendation”
Deep, neo-soul vocals. Clean, stripped-down electronica. Not from Philly, not from Atlanta, but Sweden of all places. Little Dragon is a unique Euro-American hybrid. Slightly too contrived at times, its Jill Scott raised on '80s French glam-pop.
Shawty Redd “Drifter”
Rap totally sucks; no one will deny this, but this song is a fresh take on southern crunk. If you're a fan of Outkast, Gnarls Barkley and the rest of those eclectic, Crunk-vegan, weirdoes from the south, then you'll love this song. Strange, spacey and very catchy.
