Description

Selling photos collected over the years from flea markets, auctions and even private collections, this store was once perhaps the most historical spot on Nanluoguxiang, although they have since left that location. The photos taken and printed on these cards (RMB5) date as as old as a century, and the short descriptions on the back give a concise history. Collectors can get antique maps in good condition for RMB800. Ask Beijing Postcards to enlarge and frame your favorite photo or pick up accessories like a handbag (RMB80-100) or calendar (RMB50), all featuring lao Beijing scenes. The organization also now hosts regular historical walking tours - see their website for details.

Beijing Postcards is a new place in the booming Nanluogu Xiang. The small shop is a window in to a lost world. The owners collect old China photographs from the period of app 1890-1940s. These are used to make large high quality reproduction photos to decorate your home or office, hundreds of black and white decorative postcards to hang on your wall or send out to your loved ones, as well as calendars, and to make merchandise such as note books, bags etc. The shop also sells genuine old antique maps of China and Asia. Perfect place to find gifts or to look for beautiful wall decoration.
