Quoted from Trip Advisor “One of a kind and one is surrounded with creativity” 4 of 5 starsReviewed March 11, 2013 Friends recommended the Green Tea House and we had no clue why such high interest. My wife and I found why and had a wonderful visit. Despite living close we were taken by surprise finding it and navigating the unique character of this place. Everything at the Green T. House is an experience. From the way the bottles of wine are stored, the restroom area, food delivery and especially the presentation of the tea. If you have time it will make you smile!

Quoted from Trip Advisor “A treat for lovers of good food and great design” 5 of 5 starsReviewed July 5, 2013 What a great surprise, unexpectedly we had the best food on our six day stay in Beijing. To top it off, the restaurant itself is a design lover's paradise. We went for lunch, the food was quite unique, modern Chinese. Not only would I go back, I would recommend it to any discerning traveler to Beijing. A dining experience like no other in the city! Visited July 2013

To be honest, I dont know how this restaurant is lived, the decoration is nice, but looks dirty and old in the day time, yes, at night time with the dim light, we cant see anything dirty and old. The food is too much decoration than the tast itself, the hygien also is a problem, I can see the glasses is not very clean. The service is soooo so, sometime we need service and cant find the waitress. The price is over expensive, not matching the dirt and old enviroment.

From Dining City.com Reviews It was amazing. Completely, utterly Amazing. Other than the small misunderstanding at the beginning with cameras and bookings, the lunch went extremely well. Great service and attitude. I mean, it's not everywhere that they honestly treat all customers equally, especailly since we're students. The food was deliscious. Simple, flavourful, and to an extent, healthy. Everything felt so natural in taste, there wasn't too much oil, or it wasnt too dry, not too overwhelming, but at a perfect balance that made it all work. Portions made me quite query at first thinking that it might not be enough, but by the time the Almond dessert with sweet dumplings came along... I definitely couldn't say I was hungry, but was at the comfort of being 80% full. The atmosphere seemed a bit more empty and hollow. But I guess that's the style. We (our part of two) didnt want to sit on the dark long black table... (which we imagined to be a lot more grand at night) but sat on the sofas on the side. Shoes off and sitting cross legged on the white sofa definitely gave it a homey comforting feel. I couldn't have loved this experience more. 19 Mar 2012, 04:40

From Dining city.com reviews The Green T House Living is a very beautiful and tranquil setting. A little oasis of peace. The food seems to take from both Chinese and Japanese in style and tastes, with a Western feel. Served with an amazing attention to detail delivering beautifully arranged and unusual dishes with a hand painted menu created just for Restaurant Week. Lunch at Y118 is definitely a great deal but there is also a set lunch available through September that is Y138+15% that also makes this good for a special lunch. While dining we were also greeted by the owner who made us feel very welcome. 07 Sep 2012, 02:32

From Dining City.com reviews The duck was amazing - it was tender and juicy with crispy skin. And the lemongrass sauce was delicious. The tangyuan dessert was also quite nice. The atmosphere in the restaurant is fantastic. I would definitely return for another meal. Especially if there's another restaurant deal! 10 Sep 2012, 12:04

Completely disagree with all the above. First of all , accept the fact this is Beijing's least popular restaurant. If you see other diners, its a miracle. That means you will have the greatest sqm per diner of any place in your life. God knows how it stays alive. But.......ambiance is like nowhere else in Beijing. Every visitor we take there has dropped jaws. Food is universally amazing (albeit expensive) - curly spicy chicken, amazing seafood spring rolls, roti pancake, great desserts. But the service still languishes. Shame. I took visitors to here the night after Maison Boulud. They will remember this place more , which is someone amazing as Maison Boulud continues to be Beijing's only perfect restaurant

I'm sorry but the price estimation of: Price Y300-Y399 per couple is wrong. -You can get two bowls of their heaven on earth rice and a bottle of San Pelligrino to share for 200RMB already (15% tip included). Our bill was just under 1,200RMB and that was for two starters and two mains (plus two bowls of rice and water). Pricey establishment. -I believe most will agree with me that this restaurant is a place to show to people for a one-off. But not repeat-worthy because of price.

The Green T. House tries to astound its diners as soon as they enter the restaurant. Once you enter the restaurant by ringing a doorbell, a hostess takes you to a section of a long, black dining table that takes up much of the venue space. It really is a feast for the eyes: the black table and high-backed chairs represent a stark contrast to the white walls and ceilings, the candles provide a sof complement to the techno-neon lights, and the innovative architectural touches seem more like museum installations than decorations. All of these design features as well as the traditional Chinese dancers get you in the mood for a great meal. It is unfortunate then that the food fails to live up to expectations. I admire the concept of using tea in all its forms to unite an Asian fusion menu; however, the dishes are mostly hit and miss. And when they miss, you are forced to ask, what were they doing in that kitchen? I enjoyed the Asian pears with walnuts and goat cheese and the fennel-filled dumplings for appetizers. Yet, when it came to entrees, the lemongrass chicken was undercooked and the lamb served with tea leaves left a bitter, ashy taste in my mouth (I suggest fishing through the tea leaves just for the lamb). I must report that vegetarians will enjoy the tofu dish, which was both filling and delicious. I was looking forward to dessert; however, my disappointment only increased. The tea ice creams, which came on a stunning display of dry ice, were not tasty. The bitter lemon pudding had an unusual texture, something between cheesecake and tiramisu cream, and left an unpleasant aftertaste. My date called her coffee absolutely putrid and when the fruit came covered in pepper-tea flakes, I thought enough was enough. I realized that all visual spectacles were meant to distract you from objectively evaluating the food. While the meal contained some highs, it was mired by terrible lows. Don’t get me wrong, I salute experimental cooking, but some of the food just wasn’t tasty or filling. As I was paying the bill, which will be high no matter what you order, I began imagining the bowl of cereal I would prepare for myself as a midnight snack. If you want to check out the funkiest dining venue in Beijing, head over to the Green T. House, but I encourage you to limit your intake to the appetizers, a few choice dishes, and the drinks list.

Be forwarned. The food, service and management does not live up to the reviews or awards. Primarily, the front staff management is rude and overly pretentious at this over hyped restaurant. They should try picking up a tip or two from My Humble House. The food their was not only excellent but service was also impeccable. Maybe the management is still enjoying Tea at the Mad Hatter's tea party.
