Description

Paella's the star of the show at this inviting Spanish restaurant. Other food offerings are above average, and you'll find Valencian specialties and indulgent delicacies like Iberico ham. The wine list is quite extensive and the service impressive.

The joker next door (Jubang / Korean) gave us such horrible vibes the moment we walked in, & so t'was fate that brought us to the WONDERFUL NIAJO! :D Five well deserved stars to the amazing freshness & quality of food. Every bite was a taste of heaven! Service matched the warm and friendly atmosphere, with genuine interest from all levels of staff to ensure we were having a great time! Décor gave the right balance of openness and personal space we needed to laugh out loud & admire the other dishes from neighbouring tables. Highly recommend the cheese platter, the chicken paella, gambas al ajillo & croquetas! NYUMMMMMMYYYYY!!!! We'll be back! :D

overpriced particularly if you don't consider the ambience, but food is top quality. biggest gripe? a measly 4 vegetarian+1 vegan options on the menu (not counting desserts), and NONE of these were main courses. i know spanish food isn't veggie-friendly, but for a RMB 250/person dinner, a few options would be nice. stay away if you don't eat meat or seafood.

Niajo is so different to any other Spanish restaurants in town and this is mainly due to the most essential thing, it really is the only one typically from Spain. Me, as a Spaniard, as I walk into Niajo feel back home. Its easy going environment, its outstanding staff's service, delicious food and the incomparable welcome given by his chef and owner, Alejandro, will definitely make you feel as if you were in a high class restaurant back in our loved Spain. Do not miss visiting Niajo. I am sure you will find the experience very worthwhile.

The lunch menu is confusing (especially the 48rmb option) so the staff help is a must. The food taste barely justify the price. 2 out of 6 deserts were not available. I didn't have the chance to go for the large Paella where price is reasonnable. Very good service and joyful staff. Well located in Nali Patio, heart of Sanlitun.

Love the decor and ambiance! Great service especially from the manager. The salad was alright , a little bland , the chicken croquette and the lentil soup was good. The seafood paella was divine especially with that cream that they serve on the side , however , the seafood was overcooked especially the prawns. Overall a great place to dine , will definitely go back again!

Niajo gets what is so difficult to achieve for 99 per cent of the restaurants in Beijing: Authenticity. Having dinner at this place is like traveling to Valencia. Paella is the star, but i would strongly recommend to try the croquetas, the best I've ever had.

While nice food, this place would probably receive a 3 star rating if it wasn't for the high prices. Simple food cooked well, however there was nothing remarkable here. Alternative spanish spots seem to hit the mark better in terms of the price/quality/service balance.

Although impressed by the staff and enjoyed a pleasant window-side table, I'm afraid the prices at this place didn't justify the food. Don't get me the wrong, the food was enjoyable - particularly the seafood paella - but the mushroom, chicken, and vege tapas dishes were very simple/basic and didn't merit the hefty bill at the end of the meal! Management has done a great job with the service, however there are many options for Spanish and Mediterannean food that offer better value for money. Would love to see NIajo succeed, but to do so they may need to reevaluate the prices they charge!

My boyfriend and i went here to celebrate our anniversary... we had a lovely table by the window and i liked that they had an open kitchen..... having never tried paella before i was quite excited... we ordered the seafood/chicken/vege paella and it was very very nice... i just didnt know that as they bring it to your table they mix it up in front of you....they did it so quick i didnt get to take a photo :((( lol... we also ordered a jug of sangria which was very nice and two appetizers. Potato with chorizo and grilled veges.... the chorizo/potato dish was sooo yummy...my bf being portuguese felt it reminded him of flavours from home... for dessert we had their traditional dessert... but it had milk in it so i just tasted it, my bf ate most of it... we also had ..i dont know what they call it, but it was what i know as cream caramel... both very tasty.... i really cant wait to be back... i found the service lovely and yes i loved that the bread was topped up as u liked.... a nice touch was that the chef and owner himself came around and had a chitchat to us... i really liked the personal touch...looking forward to dining there again soon...especially when the cold weather hits....warm paella is just what i need to warm up :))))

Went last night to Niaojo with two friends. Ordered bean soup, lamb chops and monk fish. For drinks we had the Sangria. The wine had a lot of tiny fruit cubes, which made the wine very sweet. Had almost no wine character anymore. The soup was so so but OK. a bit waterish. Before we were served with four slices of home made bread, which was really to less for a group of four. We had to order another plate of bread again. Service was not very attentativ. The Monkfish was very excellent, it was wrapped in bacon and was just right with the crispiness. It also had almost a crab flavour. My lamb chop was also very tasty, just right with medium tender and no strong mutton smell or flavour. The lamb chop came with small home made thyme potato chips, which are now rare to find in restaurants. just right with the crispiness. All in all I would say that the food and menu are very good but unfortunately it is not cheap, more above reasonable price and the service attention needs to improve as well. Which is a bit of a disappointment since the restaurant exists already for almost a year and with the same waiter and staff. But that is a mainland chinese problem that waiter and service staff are not so efficient comparer to other chinese ethnical countries such as in Hong Kong or Taiwan and SIngapore. Hope the patron can improve on that

I must come back again as I need to give Niajo another chance. On my first visit, the paella was somewhat below my expectations as other than the big prawns, one can hardly find other types of seafood in it. We ordered several tapas to share (all good). The olives are a must to order. The wine menu is a delight and value-for-money. Service was good even though the restaurant was full to its capacity. I shall be back.

I was pleasantly surprised when I went to Niajo. We had a party of ten and all the food we ordered were excellent. Better than some of the food I've had in Spain! I would definitely recommend this place to anyone!

Good food. Good wine. Good service. More note on the food, we ordered their chicken and beans paella, tasted good and generous portion, but agree with Sienna, it's slightly dry. Tapas tortilla was good. Cheese platter was very satisfying. Shrimp and garlic was good as well. I love the constant flow of bread from the waiter. Menu is pretty self-explanatory, but if you have any questions with the dishes, the waiter will be able to explain them to you.

There's nothing like a good glass of wine and conversation to cure the winter blues, and we got that and more when we visited Niajo this past weekend. The wine was fantastic, the omelette with onion and cheese was a plate of warm and gooey deliciousness, and the desserts were made perfectly. On top of it all, the service was stellar. Definitely going back, and soon.
