Sir James Galway Description

The British living flute legend Sir James Galway OBE teams up with the extraordinarily talented UK-based Chinese guitarist Xuefei Yang for this charming programme in the UK Now calendar.

Xuefei Yang is one of Classic FM Magazine’s 100 Best Artists and one of a handful who has been signed onto an international record label.

This is a unique chance to see two major musicians performing together in Beijing in an equally unique setting.

UK Now is the largest festival of British arts and creative industries ever held in China. Between April and November 2012 it is bringing hundreds of events to at least 17 cities across China. During the festival, some of the most established and influential UK artists and artistic companies, as well as lesser-known talents from the UK’s broad creative scene will tour will tour Hong Kong and cities across Mainland China.

UK Now is managed by the British Council (which operates in China as the Cultural and Education Section of the British Embassy) in partnership with Brunswick and HSBC, and generously supported by Burberry, Diageo, IELTS, IHG, Jaguar Land Rover, John Swire & Sons, Norton Rose Group, Prudential, and Standard Chartered Bank. The strategic media partner is Modern Media Group. It has been developed in collaboration with China’s Ministry of Culture and other Chinese partners.
