LDTX is back again. As a cutting-edge dance company, constantly creating new work, this January 26th 2008, at the Haidian Theater, LDTX will premier two new works “SEE and Whispering Wind”—the first of DanceNow Beijing Series. The DaneNow Beijing Series provides a chance for young choreographers to work on experimental concepts. LDTX has just returned from their tour United States, Mexico and Austria and is ready to bring new and exciting choreography to Beijing.

This performance features two works: See choreographed by Liu Bin and Whispering Wind by Liu Yifeng:

Liu Bin, who graduated from The Affiliated High School of Beijing Dance Academy, is a founding member of Beijing LDTX Modern Dance Company. Liu’s choreography is marked by his impressive sense of music and his unique freedom of movement. This time, he has found his inspiration from the shape of the mysterious character “Bu (≤∑)”, (literally means “divination”) he investigates the many meaning of the character. He says: “There is a place in the mind without the concept of Time and Space, no stop, no end… It is an everlasting road, and I wouldn’t cease or release it, I will simply wallow in it.”

Whispering Wind is by Yao ethnic minority dancer Liu Yifeng. After his graduation from Central University of Nationalities, as a visiting artist, Liu studied modern dance in Japan where he was able to meld his training in Yao indigenous dance and contemporary dance. Both traditional movement and modern concepts mark Liu style. Liu’s choreography is charged with sleek movements and flowing melodies. Liu Yi Feng says: “How wonderful my body feels when it is surrounded in wind: I am free to release my truths. The wind is both my happiness and sorrow, it dances endlessly, under the crystal blue sky…”
