This movie draws on Dick King-Smith's novel by the same name, which tells the story of a lonely Scottish boy who discovers a mysterious egg that hatches a sea creature. The movie is long and garish, evoking last year's Eragon, but the visible emotion between the boy and the sea creature, along with the stunning technical razzle are reason enough to bring kids to the cinema.

The story is told in a traditional way: an old man telling a backpacking couple an adventurous story of a kid (i.e. himself) with an mysterious egg, which later on becomes the Sea Horse. The background of the story was a little complicated - War time with the Captain and the whole troop taking over the family's house... but this movie is a sweet treat for those who are young at heart and who appreciate mythical /fantasy movies. The Sea Horse named Crusoe is actually able to be comical at some point in the movie... lol... very much personified.
