Working in China is especially challenging for foreigners, our assumptions and expectations may be completely incorrect, and can lead to innumerable frustrations. This workshop organised by INSPIRED will provide an introductory overview of how to prepare for and use tools to address these critical issues. This will be an interactive presentation, along with plenty of time for questions & answers, and for participants to share their unique experiences and perspectives!

About our Speaker Tony Voutas: Tony Voutas is a genuine expatriate. He has 39 years of work and experience outside his Australian homeland. He has been training others and consulting in China for 19 years now. He is the managing director of Asia Pacific Access Pty Ltd which has a wholly-owned subsidiary incorporated in Beijing. He brings to his cross-cultural training for China a professional and personal knowledge of 28 of China's provinces, four and a half years experience in the highly multi-cultural Asian Development Bank in the Philippines, 13 years sociological and anthropological work in the Pacific Islands, and an academic specialization in Asian Studies.

Living in China can be a challenge for any expatriate, especially if you are thrown into it completely unprepared (and maybe even unwilling). This workshop will introduce attendees to ways of overcoming these challenges, and learning to deal with the differences between Western culture and Chinese culture effectively.
