Since I arrived in this city almost 2 years ago I have attended several events for expats professionals. Some were fine and others were simply poorly planned. However, Network.com sets a new bar in throwing events in Beijing; as soon as you walked in there was a coordinated effort to obtain and provide relevant information which assisted in meeting persons. The mix of the attendees was both diverse and prestigious; and there were generous gifts that seemed to include most of the guests. It was the first time I ever received a prize at an event and I was pleasantly surprised to see that it was a prize I could actually redeem and use. If you make it to one event, this is the one.

My apologies, I just noticed when I submitted the comment that I misspelled the site address; it is Networkclub.com and I would also be remiss if I did not mention that when everyone left the event they received a gift bag that included a complimentary certificate for a massage at a beautiful locale. So if a participant did not win one of the many prizes (I won a bottle of wine), they still walked away with a courtesy gift gesture. Even in Canada, event organizers are not this considerate. Kudos.

The inaugural Networkclub.com event was truly special. Brian Gale, the organizer, is a wizard of networking and I know he's listened to people to make the next event even better. It's wonderful to have so many networking events here in Beijing. The others are fine but this one IMO is the one oriented to offering the best chance to make a connection to success and fortune. I can't wait 'til April 16th!
