Contemporary Chinese History Lectures (in 6 sessions) deal with China's transformation since 1840 and emphasis is placed upon political development and social changes but also the civilization and cultural aspects.
Lecture I The Semi-colonial Period, from Opium War to the End of Qing Dynasty
Lecture II The Warlord, the New Cultural Movement, the Northern Expedition, and the Decade of Nanjing
Lecture III War of Resistance Against Japan, CCP in Yan’an, and the Civil War
Lecture IV The First Years, the Great Leap Forward, and the Rehabilitation of the PRC
Lecture V The Great Proletariat Cultural Revolution
Lecture VI Economic Reform and the Rise of China
The talk will be conducted in English assisted by images and PowerPoint presentation. Price : RMB 500 for a block of 6 sessions of Contemporary Chinese History; or RMB 120 pay by class; 2 hours per session
