Description -
Beijing Sailing Centre at Beidaihe is offering five-day sleepover camps for kids aged eight to eighteen. Camps must be organized via schools or sporting organizations, with a minimum of 20-42 kids per group.
Schools already booked for camps include Harrow International School (Jun 23-27), Dulwich College (Jun 30-Jul 4) and Sports Beijing (Jul 7-11).
The focus of these sailing courses is fun – water games are a strategic part of learning to sail. Students are divided up according to their age group so that games and activities can be set at an appropriate level.
The age groups are:
Sharks and Dolphins - 8-12 years of age
Pirates and Mermaids - 13-16 years of age
Explorers - 16-18 years of age
By the end of this training camp, delegates will be able to sail a boat comfortably on all points of sail inside or outside the marina. Delegates attaining this level are permitted to hire club boats.
Qualification certificates are awarded for each student that successfully completes each level, as well as take-home souvenirs of a photograph, sailing book and T-shirt. The sailors’ final day includes prize-giving, a boat rigging race, knot race, obstacle race and water tennis.
Camp is available right through summer, and the Sailing Centre season runs from May to October.
