Even if he left Jurassic 5 early to pursue solo endeavors, Cut Chemist is one of the more intriguing producers/DJs of hip-hop.
His work with the now defunct Los Angeles-based group J5 is groundbreaking. His 2006 album "The Audience's Listening" is nothing short of impressive. His performance with DJ Shadow in Los Angeles in 2000 as part of the Freeze series is legendary — two DJ spinning only 45s. And thanks to the wonders of DVD, anyone can see that concert.
Cut Chemist live is always a satisfying event. Also note: the other half of Jurassic 5's production crew, DJ Nu-Mark, will be in Beijing the following week.
There is no way I'm missing Cut Chemist or Nu-Mark.
