In Wanfotang Hall Walk Program, you can visit one of the oldest arcades——Wanfotang Hall,which was founded in 1576(Ming Dynasty),while earning volkssport credit.There are just more than ten arcades leaving in the western mountainous areas of Beijing. Wanfotang village,located in the southwest to Fengcun village of Yongding town, is famous with the Wanfotang Temple.Ten-thousand buddhas shrine and the buddhist pagoda of the period of Liao(Kitan) Dynasty had been there,but now there is little remaining. This walk is mostly on natural surface paths, and you can see beautiful buildings of Ming Dynasty. When: 17th May, 2008
Where:Yongding town, Beijing Host Club:China Volkssport Association(CVA) Route A Distance and Trail Rating:10km CVA1.75 (a little difficult) Details: 07:00 sign-in at the north gate of Gongti or at the south gate of the Temple of Earth 07:20 sign-in at the Museum of Military or at Madianqiao South; 09:30 arrive at Fengcun Village, in Yongding town; 10:30 walk to Wanfotang village, where is full of Buddhistic culture site; 11:30 visit the village and enjoy the pagodas; 12:30 have a picnic; 13:30 search for the Buddhist Words and the old city gate; 14:30 tidy up and return 15:30 down to Huangcaoliang farmhouse park and get on the car for Beijing Route B Distance and Trail Rating:15km CVA2.5 (difficult) 07:00 sign-in at the north gate of Gongti or at the south gate of the Temple of Earth 07:20 sign-in at the Museum of Military or at Madianqiao South; 09:30 arrive at Fengcun Village, in Yongding town; 10:30 walk to Wanfotang village, where is full of Buddhistic culture site; 11:30 visit the village and enjoy the pagodas; 12:00 up to the ranges and have a picnic; 13:30 walk to the middle part ot the ranges 14:30 arrive at the peak; 15:30 down to Huangcaoliang farmhouse park and get on the car for Beijing; Cost: RMB75 for CAV member,RMB90 for non-member
