New Photon Trio + One (France/China/USA) Frenchman Christophe Lier seems to prefer the tightness of trio music but often invites a fourth – usually trombonist Matt Roberts or woodwind man Kenny Liu of Ah-Q Jazz Arkestra – to realize another dimension of his compositions.
