Moreno has been a fixture in Beijing's jazz scene for 10 years and has been a teacher to many of the younger cats in town. His style spans the idioms from bebop a la Bud Powell to Afro-Cuban such as Chucho Valdes. With Jimmy Biala on augmented trap set with Latin percussion, and Zhang Hui on double bass, what we have is Beijing's first Afro-Cuban jazz trio.
