Holiday shopping is convenient, fun and charitable at WAB’s annual Parent Teacher Association (PTA) Charity Bazaar. This year’s grand event, scheduled for Saturday November 22, will bring together around 70 local, professional and student/teacher vendors representing various artists, craftsmen and traders from around Beijing, China, and the world. Shop here for truly unique gifts and crafts not sold anywhere else in Beijing. No admission fee. Lots of free parking.
The bazaar will benefit the Surmang Foundation (http://www.surmang.org), which operates a high-quality primary clinic in the Surmang region of Qinghai, China. The Charity Bazaar will specifically benefit a Surmang project: Support of Health Education Among the Ultra-Poor of Yushu Prefecture.

I'm looking forward to shopping again at this year's bazaar. Last year, I walked away with a "family" of dolls hand sewn by women in Nanjing, a block of organic cheese, a glittery scarf from Pakistan, nativity-themed paper cuts, a peasant painting, Finnish candies, mulled wine and enough baked goods to flood my house with "home."
