Description -
Cataract is the largest cause of blindness in Tibetan regions due to ultraviolet rays, poor nutrition, inaccessibility of medical care & the expense of treatment. Seva, dedicated to bringing eye treatment to impoverished regions, makes a difference. Seva Eye Camps facilitate doctor outreach to nomad & rural communities. In a single week, 100 blind persons can see again!
Shambhala, dedicated to ethnic diversity and cultural sustainable development focused on Tibetan communities, is holding a fundraising dinner to raise money to fund eye operations at the Seva Eye Camp to be conducted in nomad highland next summer. Our fundraiser last year brought sight back to 273 nomads through an eye camp conducted in late August 2008. We are hoping to do this again!
Your dinner donation of RMB800 is enough to cover two eye operations. Please join our efforts and make a difference!
The Evening includes:
The Red Capital Celestial Court Banquet
A selection of Fine Wines
Live Tibetan Song and Dance
Blessed Mala Beads and Tibetan incense
Co sponsored by: Red Capital Club, The Wine Republic
This charity dinner is part of the Shambhala’s Autumn fundraising drive to support a planned 300 cataracts operations in Tibetan highland regions scheduled for summer 2009. Find out how you can help. Contact us at shambhalahouse@yahoo.com.
