The Queers are coming to Beijing for New Years!......Forming in the early 80s, the Queers gained in popularity with the release of their first full length LP ‘Grow Up’ on Lookout! records, in 1990, right as punk started to gain greater attention from the American mainstream. Since then they have released ten more albums on Lookout!, Hopeless and Asian Man record labels. In later years the band gained notoriety for their refusal to participate in the Vans Warped tour and their outspoken criticism of punk bands selling out in order to gain mainstream acceptance.
The Queers play pop punk as it was originally intended. Raw, fast with infectious beats and catchy, light lyrics. Consistently touring the USA, Europe, Japan and Australia the Queers have gained a large cult following in the punk underground. In recent years when not traveling as the Queers, Joe and Dave are touring members of the Marky Ramone band, recently playing with him at the Beijing Pop Festival in 2007.
Joining them on stage are Brainfailure, Demerit and SKO in what will be one of the best f*cking New Years parties to hit Beijing in a while. Tickets are 80rmb at the door and 60rmb pre-sale ..
