Description

The decade following the Nationalist Revolution of 1911 and the death of strongman Yuan Shikai in 1916 resulted in a period of anarchy for China and a civil war between ‘tuchuns’ (‘warlords’) who had been responsible for dividing most of the country into personal fiefdoms. Local author Adam Williams will be at the Bookworm to explain the intrigue, the warring factions and the highly colorful monsters who populated this fascinating period of recent Chinese history.
