a Brazilian inspired jazz band

If you haven’t heard the band Mais Uma yet – you have something to look forward to. The band has been playing the great festivals such as Copenhagen Jazz Festival, Tversted Jazzy Days, Vinterjazz and Ribe Jazz Festival – and has been visited by several great Brazilian players such as Jovi Joviniano and Bernardo Aguiar.

In the summer 2007 Mais Uma released the CD “Caminho do Norte” which was very well received by the press. The national newspaper Politiken wrote: ” What so deeply impresses me is how the compositions of the band blends perfectly with the Brazilian tradition. There is a clear thread that unites the Brazilian expression with the jazz tradition”. The Jazz News wrote: “The CD is spreading such a great atmosphere in my living room that I have to move my butt and get up and dance”.

Mais Uma is a unique jazz quintet that spreads a lot of positive energy on stage. The music and the performance is extremely extrovert and is guarantying a lot of happy faces. The band is known to have great communication within the group and also with the audience which they often involve during the concerts.
