Inner Mongolian artist Xu Ying Lai may have lost her hearing as an infant, but she learned to express herself through paint on canvas. Her works are powerful and emotive creations that make use of a full range of color and theme.

After the sucessful Portraits and Performances Exhibition of Photographs by Matthew Kelly, another famours artist come to us. She is a disabled canvas painter from inner mongolia. Her work has been exhibited all over the world. Now we have honour to enjoy her paintings at houhai chopsticks art gallery on July 23 to August 6. For more details call 010-64028988.

About Xu Ying Lai

In 70's, Ying Lai lost her hearing by high fever when she was a baby, suddely, she was lost in a silend world. But all of this can not beat Ying Lai down, she learn how to speak, culture and canvas. Living as a normal person. After a decade of study, she fell in love with art, like a rainbow appeared after the rain, her life become colourful, and she use her bright eyes to see the change of four seasons, use heart to feel the wonderful world. And she put all her feelings on paintings. Althought she cann't hear, but by her strong faith with arts and hard working , she made a mircle. She showed her creative, potential and energy in her paintings. And we also can see her puriness and senceitly.

Following her deep feeling, she can paint any kinds of canvas. Don't be astonish by the strong rhythmical and beautiful tunes in her paintings. Sometimes the tears will fallen down out of your control when you see her pics.

We can see Ying Lai's arts in many worldwide arts exhiition and competion, many collectors from all of the world collect her paintings. And was published on Renmin Daily news, Economic Daily news, Electrical Daily news and Beijing Youth News Paper. Her great experience was also reported by CCTV and BTV.
