On 26 November and 24 December 2009, Shangri-La's Kerry Centre Hotel, Beijing will celebrate Thanksgiving and Christmas respectively with the kids of Beijing Sun Village Special Children Aid Centre.

The Thanksgiving party is aimed at kicking-off the festive season. Amongst the event’s highlights are Christmas story telling, caroling by the Sun Village kids choir and a buffet laden with celebratory treats. The 20-member choir was selected by Sun Village and trained by the hotel to sing traditional Christmas songs. On Christmas Eve, the choir will be at the hotel to render Christmas carols at the hotel to raise funds for the purchase of coal required for warming up the center in the cold winter months. Caroling sessions will take place at the hotel’s lobby, the Coffee Garden and the Grand Ballroom where the general public, diners and attendees of the gala event will be invited to contribute to the cause.
