FLORENCE KUTTEN

Florence Kutten is a French artist expressing herself through painting, sculpture, installations and performances.

After 12 years' work on the female gender and the sacred, ecstasy and hysteria, Florence Kutten has directed her research onto the opposite gender, the male one and his physical power, the communication between genders.

All these characters tell of their fragility to live outside conventions, the difficulty of watching oneself and that ontological need of meeting the other in confrontation, opposition, and difference.

In China for a 4 month residence, Florence Kutten got inspired by the multitude of people, going beyond the genders and the couple to explore the person among the people, the individual in the group.

PASSAGE is an open door atelier, a work under construction to visit and feel.

Florence Kutten 是一位法国艺术家，通过绘画，雕塑，装置以及表演的方式来表达自己的艺术观点。在对女性，宗教，迷幻和癔症做了十二年的研究后，Florence Kutten 转而研究异性，男性与其身体力量以及两性间的交流。所有的这些艺术作品中的人物都在讲述生存于习惯之外的脆弱，面对自我的困难，和他人进行对比、对抗、比较差距的实体需求。

在中国停留的四个月，许多人给Florence Kutten的创作带来了灵感，她已经不只局限于性别和夫妻，她开始探索研究人群中的个人，群体中的个体。因为中国，PASSAGE是一个开放的画室，一个在建设中的作品，需要去观察，去感受。
