Internationally renowned DJ/producer Stretch Armstrong has enjoyed a nearly two-decade long career that has remained as diverse, eclectic, and inspired as his home city. A love for both house music and NY's hiphop mix shows led him to fame in NY's underground scene in the 80's. Finally breaking into radio himself, his own mix-show was by far the most popular in the US thru the 90's. By then, his fame in the hiphop community was pulling him too far from his house roots, so he started to "mash-up" the two styles... hence the beginnings of a genre that rule clubland worldwide today. The artists he's worked with are a who's who of the industry: Kanye West, Wu-Tang Clan, Busta Rhymes, Tittsworth, and most recently the Dim Mak collective. After taking Beijing by storm last Chinese New Year at Punk for one of the most memorable nights Beijing has witnessed, Stretch is back to give another encore performance in the place he calls home in China: Punk Beijing.
