Beijing Playhouse Calling All Directors

Beijing Playhouse is giving you an opportunity to direct a show. All directors and aspiring directors are welcome to submit their show ideas for Beijing Playhouse’s 2011 season.

Beijing Playhouse “Calling All Directors” Open Invitation All directors are welcome to submit ideas for shows they would like to direct at Beijing Playhouse. Experienced directors are strongly encouraged. If you are an aspiring director, we have a training program, so you are also welcome to submit your ideas.

How To Submit Your Show Ideas If you want to direct a show, we request you bring the following items to your appointment on March 24. 1. Three copies of each script you have selected. We suggest bringing 2-4 show ideas that you are passionate about. (If you don’t have any ideas, we’ve got some.) 2. 10-20 minutes to explain your show and how it fits Beijing Playhouse’s show selection guidelines (below). 3. Your directing experience. Obviously, the more experience you have, the more likely you are to be selected as a Beijing Playhouse director. But we also have a training program for aspiring directors. So if you have passion to learn, that’s good, too. 4. Bring as many of your crew members as you have lined up. Beijing Playhouse has crew, so this is not required. But the more crew support you have lined up in advance, the greater your odds of being selected.
