Shangri-La’s Kerry Centre Hotel, Beijing will participate in Earth Hour 2010 with an aim of saving 210kwh for the one hour of powering-down. On 27 March 2010 between 8:30 p.m. and 9:30 p.m., all non essential lighting in guestroom corridors and staff areas, as well as all exterior lighting will be switched off at the hotel in a concerted effort to fight against global warming.

All hotel guests and staff will be encouraged to join this global event with Earth Hour dinners at Coffee Garden and The Horizon Chinese Restaurant, soft music at Centro Bar, a special channel dedicated to the screening of this event in guestrooms, Kerry Sports Centre’s television screens and in staff areas. During this time, there will be notifications recommending minimal use of electrical appliances in guestrooms, including the lights and air conditioning system, to demonstrate their support to Earth Hour and display their commitment to saving energy and, ultimately, the earth.
