  • Lecture introduction: As curator of Utopics, the 1th Swiss Sculpture Exhibition in Biel and the Neons public art project in Geneva, Simon Lamunière will focus on these recent experiences with public space to question the scale of art and its visibility. Public space is big, complex and intertwined with different layers of perception. Even its mere reality has expanded with digital technologies. The relation between here and now is overcharged by delocalized information. The constant confrontation between the global and the local perverts the usual sense of scale and the manner one may discover an artwork. This new context allows more intrusive and infiltrating strategies for artists and curators.
