Originally from Japan, TGC is a major fashion event, and lots of famous fashionistas have been invited to TGC’s Beijing debut, including local singer Shang Wenjie, Tse Kay, Benylan and Japanese singer Kuraki Mai, as well as famous Chinese model Lv Yan and Japanese model Karina. The Tokyo Girls Collection, sometimes abbreviated as TGC, is a semiannual fashion festival launched in 2005. The fashion event showcases the seasons fashionable streetwear by domestic brands, and are usually modeled by popular celebrities from various entertainment scenes not by professional models. The event is open not only to buyers and journalists, but also to the general public and incorporates live concerts by well-known artists, charity auctions as well as the Miss TGC Contest. The event is planned and sponsored by Branding Inc. (which runs girlswalker.com and fashionwalker.com) and the outfits donned by the models are made available for purchase on the spot through Fashionwalker's mobile site.
With its theme, "real clothes of Japan to the world", this fashion event has been held twice every year since August 2008. In this distinct fashion festival, popular models from fashion magazines appear on the runway and all the clothing worn in the show can be purchased through Internet and mobile phone or other channels.
The TGC Girls Collection will be held in MasterCard Center (formerly the Wukesong Arena) on May 7th. This will be the first TGC event held in Beijing. Superstars and models will also take part in the event in the forms of fashion show, dance, singing and magic to show people a big fashion feast!
