Contributor Description

Xin Dong Cheng Space for Contemporary Art was founded in year 2000 in Beijing (China). Xin Dong Cheng’s vocation is to establish a cultural bridge between China and the rest of the world. By exhibiting western artists in China he gives the Chinese public an opportunity to widen their knowledge about western modern and contemporary art after half a century of interruption.

By holding exhibitions of Chinese artists in his gallery in Beijing, and outside of China (for example in Paris, Greece, Moscow ext.) Xin Dong Cheng also leads the western public towards a discovery and appreciation of the Chinese contemporary art, that is already widely appreciated in international art circles. In the past two years he opened two new gallery spaces in Beijing (Xin Dong Cheng Space II and Xin Dong Cheng Space III) and expanded his first gallery to 700 square meters, making it one of the largest galleries in the capital.
