After leaving the Economic Observer, writer and reporter Xu Zhiyuan opened this tranquil, sun-lit bookstore in a corner of the Old Summer Palace. The store has a small, but enticing browse-only library of English-language books, which reflects Xu’s discriminating tastes. Xu’s “library” is, however, best known as home to Beijing’s most memorable literary events.
