Sad to say that this was our first rip off in 7 months Beijing. Really looking forward to this we found ourselves in a poky little kitchen in an admittedly nice hostel at Houhai. Place has moved, sadly still having both addresses on their homepage, so started off in the wrong place. Eventually there, we were rather surprised, as there was none of the so-called 5 step approach we had booked, incl. shopping, preparing, 3 diff. dishes in nice surroundings with diff. Chinese wines etc.. No, it was roundbout 180 jiaoze for 6 people, nothing to really do except sit round the table, sniff the sesame oil and stir the dough once p.P.... We were expecting something more to happen, but then after about 2 h and far too many not so tasty jiaoze, we were allowed to admire the roof top terrace and leave. 220 RMB p.P is what they expected us to pay and they did not want to understand, that actually we had booked something else, as posted on their website. After that it was about an hour of to and fro's with phrases like: This is what you booked, yes, our wedsite is under construction, this is not Yashow, noone has ever complained before, this is how we do business.... This is China.... No, this is not China, this was just a bad con. While Nora, the girl assisting was getting extremely sarcastic, finally the boss did have to admit, that this was all not quite right and we ended up paying a still hugely overpriced 100 RMB p.P. Goes without saying: drinks not included.
