Within a week of Moro’s very quiet opening, friends were already urging us to try it, so we had high expectations for Beijing’s first Moroccan restaurant. We weren’t disappointed in the least. The small, cozy dining area is simple yet clean and comfortable, providing a relaxed, home-like atmosphere for diners to focus on the food and enjoy their time together. We started with the two-person Tapas Platter (RMB70), an assortment of marinated octopus, mushrooms, beautifully spiced dips, fantastic kalamata olives and warm pita bread. The Grilled Asparagus Salad (RMB38), made with some of the best asparagus we’ve ever had, was complemented exquisitely by the brie cheese with which it’s served. The Tagines, cooked in distinctive looking clay dishes set right over the flame of the small stove in an open kitchen area, are one of Moro’s (and Morocco’s) specialties. The Moorish Tagine (RMB68), large portions of lamb stewed with delicious prunes, almond and caramelized onion, was a rich, slightly sweet dish. Even better, we thought, was the Tagine Spring Chicken (RMB68), perfectly cooked chicken served with new potatoes in a delicious lemony broth best tasted when sponged up with pita bread. We ended things with the Cheese Platter (RMB38), which, considering its large selection and beautiful presentation, is an absolute steal for anyone who loves cheese. With its Moroccan chef and owner at the helm, Moro is bringing new flavors and a unique style of dining to Beijing, and we predict it’ll become one of the city’s most popular new restaurants. Just be prepared to make reservations.

Wonderful! Very attentive and friendly sevice brought us an unforgettle dining experience. The Chicken Tagine is highly recommended. You could savor the best chicken broth, tender and juicy meat of chicken leg in this dish. We also ordered morocan salad, which is a fantastic appetizer with pita bread in classic middle eastern style, and the "minced beef" Tagine, which is covered by a fine layer of poached eggs, surprised our palates again. And the Couscous, served in a generous helping of vegetables with a tasty meatball among it and topped with the amazingly concentrated beef broth in aromatic flavor, could safisfy both your mouth and stomach. Cheese platter, with which our meal ends, is a perfect plate for cheese lovers, but this is the only one choice because the other choice "pumpkin pudding" is not available then. So what we expect more is a finer selection of dessert. We 'll be back soon!

Moro made a lot of buzz since opening, according to that i had high expectations. It was a good experience but not as good as i hoped for. The restaurant is small and cozy. It has this intimate feel only small restaurants can have. Perfect for bringing a date. The service is very friendly, but since we went early and the restaurant wasn't packed at that time, it was over attentive and eager, made us feel a bit uncomfortable having someone around all time... The food was good, some things were even impressive. The salad to start with, was not impressive, it rather was an average leave salad with countable olives and tomatoes in it, the balsamico dressing was okay. The grilled asparagus salad was much better, only the portion could be a little bit bigger with more emphasis on asparagus and goat cheese. Impressive was the tenderness of the spring chicken, the meat literally melted off the bone, but was a little bland, what mattered only little, because most of the flavor goes into the broth which was exquisite especially after adding a pinch of salt, cooling down a little bit and being sponged with the freshly baked wonderful pita bread.
