Got Game?

With a projection screen and 65 plasma TV screens, this place is a definite rave with sports fanatics, given a constant flow of booze and quality snacks. Open for 24 hours with a kitchen helmed by a Michelin star chef, the menu also includes a kid’s menu for the little ones. We started with some finger food, generous portions of quality snacks like Popcorn Shrimp (RMB45), side kicks of Onion Rings (RMB20) and Deep Fried Calamri (RMB45) before digging into the All-Star Fish & Chips (RMB70), fresh and succulent, done perfectly and served with a side of mashed peas. Baby Back Ribs (RMB18) were a little work getting through, and an All-Star Hamburger (RMB65) with extra cheese (RMB10) was incredibly rich and flavorsome. Finally, we ended our evening on a high note with the Chocolate Explosion (RMB55), a chocolate lava cake with pistachio ice cream oozing with goodness.

Decent burger. (as a california native, definitely not close to in-n-out at all).

Total BS on the sports night deal. We went there once for Monday night football. They were using live stream internet games on ESPN to fool us. SHAME ON THEM!

Great service.

This place seem to have a good PR machine but little else. Burgers are soft and mushy, pizza was made with steak sauce during one visit and hardly any cheese. My t-bone steak was a piece of cheap beef and when the waiter was told it was not t-bone, he pleaded ignorance. Why is it always empty?

I’ll admit, I’m a fan of All Star’s and I really do not know what the poster below is talking about. Value?? Without the cheese, their signature All Star burger are actually 55 RMB including fries and coleslaw, not 98. That’s value to me. If you go to the other popular burger shop at San Li Tun, yeah, expect to pay more than 98 RMB for a ‘oversized’ burger that is half-decent at best, no fries or slaw, just ‘hyped-up’ with a thick chunk of angus ground beef that is rather bland and tough at times. Plus you get to pay 25 RMB for their fries in addition to the high price of the burger giving you a total of 123 RMB. That’s more than double the price of All Star's burger and you’re complaining about value… ok dude.

I went to All star again two days ago, ordered a All Star Hamburger with cheese (medium well) and got exactly what I was expecting—the ‘best burger’ in Beijing. In terms of flavor, I have yet to taste another burger that is as well-portioned and balanced (just the right amount of patty, tomatoes, lettuce, and sauce etc) as All Star’s.

Having lived most of my life in Southern California and eaten at In-n-out once or twice every week during my college years, I can attest that their All Star hamburger + cheese does indeed taste like what they claim—I think it has much to do with their sauce. Those who don’t feel this way most likely 1.) never been to In-n-out, 2.) had it only once or twice in their lives, or 3.) ordered the patties too rare—as In-n-out don’t serve medium-rare burgers. Just make sure you order your burger at least Medium-Well, very important! The meat comes out crispy and full of flavor and creates a perfect harmony with the cheese.

In fact, when you think about it, All Star serves a huge menu including Mexican dishes (fish-tacos are great btw), pastas, pizzas (they told me they have a new and improved crust), and grilled steak secitons—and almost all the dishes have been executed pretty well every time I’ve ordered it. Give these guys the credit they deserve!

The food is nothing special. We had a Mexican starter plate which contained 4 or 5 different things but they were all stuffed with the same filling. Greasy and not tasty at all. After that we went for a burger and a chicken sandwich. On the menu it said it would come in Ciabatta bread but it was more like a sweet breakfast bun. The burger was average and for 98 RMB not a steal. On that evening there were around 15 guest in total and the soccer game nobody watched was so loud that you could barely talk. The service was not attentive and served everything together although we wanted a starter and THEN the maincourse. Value for money: 1 star!

What is this nonsense I hear about Allstar's burgers being the closest thing to In-N-Out this side of the Pacific Ocean? BLASPHEMY. Sure, they're not bad but they're nothing special. Try again.

We were famished last Friday late night after a piano concert and was out hunting for food. Unable to find anything suitable (for our purses) near the Tiananmen Square, except for poshy and expensive hotels, we suddently thought of All Stars! At normal times, we probably wouldn't go to an American diner but that night we were terribly hungry and All Stars was the only one we remembered opens 24 hours. For once, we appreciate clean, chic, comfortable and reasonably priced F&B establishments like this restaurant that operates into the wee hours. The food was not the best in town, but for that price, that hour of the night, that acceptably good waiting service, we are grateful that this restaurant exists. We ordered a crabmeat penne and All Star burger. Unknowingly, free drinks come along with all pasta and burgers, so we happily gulped down 2 ice teas. The check came up to RMB127. Not expensive at all. Perhaps most people go there to watch a good football match over a booze, but for us, it was a fantastic supper place. Next time if you are hungry in the middle of the night, just head straight to All Star!

To be honest, I’m very surprised with what I found at all star. I am from the US and have not found a restaurant in Beijing whose food is so truly American that really truly hits the spot. The pizza is served with actual real pepperoni (not the fake salami stuff you find elsewhere). The guacamole tasted fantastic and most importantly, my kids love the food and we brought ten of their ISB friends and everybody had a great time. The service was also very courteous and knowledgeable as well.

F1 racing fan here. I went to Allstar two Sundays ago and watched the race. Their screen and sound system was amazing. Sitting in front of the big screen felt like I was sitting inside the race car itself. I’m going there again this weekend to watch the Shanghai F1 race. Can’t wait!!

There is a lot of expectations for the kind of set up this place has.

Have been here twice , and each time different set of problems.

The food was improving , especially the burgers. But guess there is a new manager and new menu.(different than I visited first time). Whenever I have talked to the Manager ,they are nice and give good service. Without the manager, things can go wrong, so best is get the manager to order and then he takes care ! Will still go there as the place has so many screens and for a sports lover its a nice place. Food or no food, drink and watch !

After much buzz about their new menu, I must say I'm very disappointed by their change. I loved their burgers, and I went over there last night to try their new burgers that are akin to In-N-Out burgers. Uh, overstatement much? The sauce wasn't anything special, and they put so much of it that it overwhelmed the flavor of the burger. The fries were overcooked, and worse, it was served cold. I liked their older burgers better! It was juicy, and the regular All-Star burger came with cheese and bacon. Always served fresh, not soggy.

Their new menu has an American diner flare, in terms of food items and menu design. I must say that their menu design is a bit too tacky; it brings down the quality of their appearance quality. Their previous menu items had a combination of so-called upscale and comfort foods (seared tuna salad with a juicy burger?), which I enjoyed a lot. Now, it's just a glob of plain-old food items. Well, if it's what they're going for, then they did a heck of a good job.

My point is: their burgers have much left to be desired.

I went to all star last night for the first time. I took part in the City Weekend month menu. I thought the food was just so-so. I ordered the Chicken Salad, Cheeseburger and had the Cinnamon roll for dessert. When the salad came it was covered in a mound of rice crisps. I couldnt even find the salad. I had to dump the rice crisps out on to the side place. the salad was just lettuce and a few pieces of chicken and a slice of orange. the whole thing was drowning in dressing. there was a large pool in the bottom of the bowl.

On to the cheeseburger. The burger itself was pretty good. There was horseradish in it that gave it a litle kick, which was much enjoyed. However, it came with an entire jar of mayonnaise. It was impossible to scrape it off. (not to mention that there was no warning on the menu that any mayonnaise would be put on the burger at all). but once i gave up on the bun as a casualty of the mayonnaise, i actually enjoyed the burger.

The dessert was good. The roll was served warm. The only problem was that we were not even close to done with our burgers when the dessert came. and instead of waiting, the just put the dessert down in front of our burgers, making it somewhat awkward.

Other than that the staff did seem to try. They were very attentive, and seemed to speak english. They seemed a bit unsure, but what can you expect.

Overall: cut down on the dressing/mayonnaise please. Food was decent but will not be returning.

very nice brunch, with great value. The staff is great and extremely well mannered/kept.

The jalapeno dip is pretty darn good and that sundried tomato pesto is to die for.

they get 4 instead of 5 stars because they used milk in my white russian instead of cream like the menu said.

A fab place to watch sports, with 65 screens you cannot fail to be able to see at least one screen.

I thought the service was a little slow but there was no problem with the English.

Great calamari but I think there are better burgers to be had in Beijing. The fries did remind me of McDonalds. I will probably return to check out the pizzas.

Looses marks for not having baby seats but the staff seemed keen to get some in. We will see.

The French onion soup actually was a little sweet, and the burger was piled high, but about the diameter of a McDonald's burger. And the French fries reminded me of exactly that. If you're a sports junkie, by all means, get your fix here. I just expected a little better from the food.

I agree with Alchemy on the food. I think the Michelin chef must have worked in the soup kitchen of the Michelin tyre factory . There is no way anyone in the kitchen here understands real food

I do confirm it was bad but I agree that it might have been on a bad day: chef on leave or forgot to order fresh meat...

Anyway it happened to me twice and most likely I won't go back and I do believe the other customers who were there on those days will do the same...

Come on Alchemy, it couldn't have been that bad! I was there for lunch last week, and had great burger! Fresh, perfectly cooked and tasty. The English of the waitress left something to desire, but she served us in time. Wouldn't go there for diner, but will defenitly come back for the much needed quick bite.

The worst lunch ever in Beijing.

As we always like to give a second chance (and also because it is close to home and newly opened...), we went there a second time and again world record: we were five at the table: 30 minutes to get the 2 plates of tacos (supposed to be different but actually exactly the same food and ultra-light taste), 45min for the first burger, 1h for the second one and the last one never came (but it was on the bill!!!). The two tables beside us: the same. We probably asked the waitresses 15 times and actually proposed to go to the kitchen and cook the burgers by ourself... it didn't help as you can imagine!

If there is a Michelin-star chef working in this restaurant, either he was not there during these 2 days (and didn't have a back-up) or he has got amnesia and forgot all what he learnt in his previous restaurant. The food that we eventually got was not tasty, the meat was over-cooked and certainly not fresh.

In order to finish with a positive note: - their calamari are very good - the bar is stylish and the well installed 65 screens are sure great to watch plenty of Games

So if you really want to go there, do it to watch a game and have a beer. Don't bother to have a meal.

Where you're often paying for what you're surrounded by when sitting down to eat, the All Star Sports Bar & Grill is the one place where the ambiance takes center stage.

The abundance of televisions is the reason you go to All Star — food is secondary, something you get while watching a sporting event.

That being said, All Star does an exceptional job of catering to everyone. From pizza and pasta to burgers, barbecue and breakfast, the 24-hour restaurant has enough of a selection to satisfy anyone's appetite.

As an American, it's comforting to see the words ESPN pop up every so often at one of the few places I've seen that actually carries the channel.

A little to bright for me at the beginning when I reach at about 7pm...but as it get later in the evening they do dim the lights. Drinks a little too pricey to my budget. Overall I still like it...: )

To avoid having to eat your food while standing, definitely reserve a table faaaar ahead of time (especially for major events), otherwise the ONLY ones with seating are those who know Ingles Warren (the manager).

Agree with the reviewers above, this place definitely has great atmostphere - lights&sirens went off whenever a point was scored during the China-US basketball game! The food was good and reasonably priced - much lower than US prices. A few things could be improved though:

1) What's the point of having 65 plasma screen TV's when they all need to be on the same channel?! Lots of disappointed Americans showed up last Sunday to watch the US vs. Netherlands soccer game and were forced to either leave or watch the Chinese game instead.

2) This is an eatery and sports bar...yet there are not even NEARLY enough barstools/chairs to go around the entire bar area (they only had about 20 chairs total!). I heard tons of complaints coming from disgruntled customers as they had to stand and try to eat their burgers while holding the plates in their hands... (Apparently they tried to bring in chairs from Bling upstairs (a total of less than 10)but those went to customers who knew the management instead of others who stood around waiting for 1-2hours...)

3) It was pouring outside on the night of the US-China game and the only restrooms are outside, around the corner and upstairs in sister venue Bling...to get there, everyone came back in completely soaked - not to mention the 4inch puddle at the foot of the stairs...for such a large venue, why doesn't it have its own restrooms?!?!?!

4) My friends ordered burgers with fries and they ran out of fries...at 8pm...and we didn't find out until the burgers were served with 2-3 pieces of lettuce - no dressing...maybe when they run out of something as common as french fries customers should be notified prior to ordering. (They also ran out of onion rings...and from speaking to one of the PR managers it seems like they've been running out of a lot of food items quite early in the night...)

All Star is attempting to be the "it" place for the Olympics (and I definitely see the potential) so hopefully these issues will get fixed, otherwise customers are just left dissapointed and frustrated with another poorly managed venue.

I was there last night for the USA vs. China BB game. It was amazing. The place was packed with fans. Definitely the BEST sports bar in BJ! It's great also if you dont have an olympic ticket to any of the events but still want to have a very unique and exciting olympic experince. The food was great, the staff was friendly, and the beer was flowing nonstop.

Watched Opening Ceremonies here, food was terrific, wait staff was very friendly (and very good looking ;-P) and the hostess and manager did a good job of letting everyone in, even though there was a bit of a wait. Overall a great restaurant and bar, though be prepared to pay American prices... Only complaint was that we had to go into Bling Club upstairs to use the bathrooms... Not very convenient. Definitely a must see, so far in my book it's Beijing's best Sports Bar.
