Da Dong's duck is as meltingly succulent as any; it claims to be lower in calories, but it sure doesn't taste like it. We know it's tough, but don't stuff yourself on the main event and overlook other dishes—the fried oysters in Sichuan pepper-salt are a must.

This place does some serious business and if you don't like queuing for a table then booking is a necessity.
The duck does melt in your mouth and is very lean. Liked the way the waitress demontrated 3 ways to eat the duck with no less than 8 different condiments.
Although the duck was the star of the show the other dishes were also very well done. Of particular note was the deer and radish in chilli oil.
Free dessert and fruit provided a pleasant surprise to finish off with.

On the recent week-end I patronise 大董烤鸭店 (Tuanjiehu outlet). From the exterior, the restaurant looks old. Surprisingly the interior looks very much better. I have tried other famous Peking Duck outlets (Quan Ju De全聚德~at王福井 Wang Fu Jing,Bian Yi Fang便宜访,DongLaiShun东来顺))I think so far 大董烤鸭is the best in texture. The skin is lean and crispy, it practically "melts" in your mouth (not in your hands..ha ha @M&Ms chocolates). Price is slightly lower compared to Quan Ju De's (for the duck only). Drinks are quite pricey. Service is aceptable. Plus points: 1)The waitress will actually guide you on 3 different methods on how to enjoy their duck. The sugar method was new to me... 2) Surpise factor: at the end of the meal, desert & fruits are serve without additional charges.
