Mostly delicious, but seriously... Ordered bacon quiche (got salmon instead), carrot cake (banana), cafe latte (Americano). Three screw-ups in 2 weeks? Frontline staff gotta know the products better!

I agree with Chrissy, I was back there about 2 weeks ago picking up some beautiful cakes and eclaires for a house warming party. The staff that was helping to pick them out ruined the little cakes and started playing with it to stuff it back into shape. Seeing what she was doing, I asked, and she said 'does it matter?', before haughtily chucking the cake back into the display fridge.
The quality of the food, needless to say had also suffered, ruined cakes aside.

OK, wake up call for CDF management (coming from your LOYAL and OLD customer of at least once/ week for the past 3 years)... 1) Really don't like the new layout/ furnishing - old one was a lot cozier
2) What happened to all the friendly and old staff... those who know everyone by the name and know exactly what they want to order?
3) Portions & Quality - Your Chef Salad was by far the best in town - it screamed DEVOUR ME everytime I saw the fresh ham, cheese and extra bacon piling on the wonderful greens... Now - it calls for HELP! Portions have been reduced to half, hardboiled eggs are badly formed and tomatoes are not fresh, the salad is so dry I wonder if there's any dressing in there.
Customers like us don't ask for much, we just ask for consistency as how you original were!
I usually come out of lunch fully invigorated, but today's experience definitely hit rock bottom!

Went here and had dessert for lunch (one of my favorite ways to eat a meal!). Was disappointed.
Fine, they use Valrohna as their coverture chocolate. Nice, and to be expected if they're French.
But 1) strawberry cheesecake not impressive. Didn't really taste like anything. Have had much better in the States - and at Sugar in Xindianti (the Collection) in Shanghai.
2) Truffles not good. Too sweet and artificial. Again, I think Sugar in Xindianti was better and stuff in the States is much better (Richart, Rechuitti in SF come to mind).
3) Ice cream not that great either. Too sticky sweet for my tastes. (had mango and passion fruit, which was oddly two colors...)
4) Macaroon OK. Better than most and everything I've seen in Beijing (which has not been a lot).

I bought a birthday cake here once. It was over RMB400, but it was definitely worth every penny.
It was the Strawberry Cheesecake. And it would be saying something if it was as good as something you could find back home (in the States). But it was better!

Alright, now that I have a really good mood, I thought I would dish out more detail to the hot chocolate :-p I found out that they make their hot chocolates from chocolate syrups instead of those chocolate powder mixes that other places use, and that's the secret of why it has this really rich and silky texture (cuz I was inquiring the guy if I could buy the mix togo so I could make it at home). Anyway, heard that they are opening up a branch in the central villa area, sounds good to me as it will be closer to me now, yea!

Super yummy hot chocolate, definitely the best I had in Beijing, and I've had a lot of them before! The desserts are good, but it's very similar to kempi deli. Love their passion fruit white chocolate mousse log, wish they have more passion fruit desserts! Basically will go back just for the hot chocolate, the desserts are also good, but could get them elsewhere.

Instantly became one of my favorite places in Beijing the first time I went, I go out of my way to eat here. Among the best - if not the best - breads, pastries and sandwiches in Beijing.

Very nice bread...but the ice cream is amazing, especially the mango. Well worth a visit.

The ice-cream and sorbets are to die for, especially the lemon and mango!
