Modern Chinese
This beautifully done restaurant boasts a glass rooftop cocktail bar, private rooms and a dining area with a neo-classical-meets-modernity feel. Run by the former manager of Jasmine and Green T House, this restaurant exudes the same finesse of its forbears. The menu ranges from modest to top-end sashimi (topping over ¥2,000). Our fried eggplant with shrimp paste (¥49) was served with glass noodles giving the dish an added bite over the soft eggplants. Our deep-fried wild green balls (¥49) were crispy on the outside and stuffed with finely chopped vegetables. They arrived on a long wooden plate, individually placed on white ceramic spoons with chrysanthemum flower petals. The braised pork baby ribs in plum sauce (¥49), were so tender the meat slid off the bones. Paired with a bowl of fluffy white rice, it was the perfect affair. They also roast kaoya on the spot in the open kitchen and we heard it’s well worth the hour wait.
