Grab one of their thick, American-style sandwiches on your choice of bread or sample a selection of freshly-baked muffins at this pleasant and friendly café. With recent hot additions of Vegetarian Lasagne, Macaroni and Cheese combo and Meatloaf sandwiches, it's another excuse to enjoy a meal in this brightly lit and simply decorated cafe.

Sequoia's pretty much what keeps the CW editors upright and functioning during the week. Nothing like chowing down on a steak and cheese sandwich at your desk to make you feel that all's right with the world.
And the ginger muffins . . . don't even get me started on the ginger muffins.

Great fries and fresh bread on the sandwiches, but where was the mustard? A sandwich needs a little something to perk it up. Nonetheless, the chocolate cupcakes are really something else, so I'll forgive the absence of my Grey Poupon.

Love their bacon butties...they even come with brown sauce. Just like home.

the service is friendly and the sandwhiches are great - roast beef with dijon is yummy! but i wouldn't recommend getting muffins on weekends...they just taste a bit stale...

In making the rounds at cafes, Sequoia is a pleasant stop that is definitely worth the effort. Much like a lacquered box, the Jianguomen store reveals layers of excellent features such as ample seating, adjoined bookstore, and friendly staff. My coffee was adequately robust, and the steak and cheese favored by the illustrious CW editors provided a filling lunch. The only beef (no pun intended) I had is slightly unfair, as the quality ingredients in the steak and cheese almost made up for the imperfect (meaning not in Pat's, Gino's, or Jim's range; I'm very picky with steak sandwiches) tasting sum of its parts, and will probably be remedied by my ordering different sandwich in the future.
Go for the pastries and sandwiches and linger for the comfy, homey atmosphere.

I'd say the best sandwich i had so far in Beijing. Tried roast beef and tuna, both were great, especially the fresh delicious bread makes them stick out of the sandwich crowd... Service is very friendly, and atmosphere is quiet and comfy.

I was craving a sandwich so I came here. They serve my favorite kind of sandwich - turkey cranberry on whole wheat bread! It doesn't hurt that the Escher Chocolate cake is just fabulous! It was a nice birthday treat!
