Every Saturday and Sunday Alfa's outdoor patio transforms itself into a quiet, jazzy retreat from the buzz of the city. Canadian Embassy chef Billy Kawaja lends a hand, whipping up delicious French-inspired treats alongside fresh smoothies. Whether it's the classy (deluxe eggs Benedict with smoked salmon) or the comforting (pancakes with seasonal fruit) you're seeking, Café St. Laurent can fit the bill. Perfect for banishing your hangover blues.

i went thinking last sunday expecting a great brunch. I had read the review here and was so excited that I even invited 4 of my friends. Unfortunately, what we got was bad service in a very cold space. They sat us in the corner where a constant cold wind was entering the establishment. Despite our reservations and persistent requests the staff would not reseat us. Result – we ate in our jackets as we would have if outside. To add insult to injury the service was slow and several of our group had to ask the same fuwuyuan several times for the same thing before it eventually came. The food, when it did finally arrive, was cold.
Upside: French toast when cold is still edible.
Downside: an expensive breakfast that turned out disastrously. Friends now view my suggestions with speculation.
Not recommended unless you have a lot of time, patience, and weather is nice.

I think they must have paid attention to the previous post here.
The service was very attentive and the food was excellent. The eggs benedict and the granola were particularly good.
Could not fault anything, will definitely return.

5 stars for the best casual brunch in Beijing (tried 5 dishes at our table - all 5 were fantastic). The presentation of each dish was thoughtful. Service was superb. My one complaint - and it is a BIG one - the bathrooms were appalling. The food was so good, it was still a 5-star brunch - despite the shocking bathroom!

We went with high expectations after the above reviews, however were really disappointed. When we were given the menu it only seemed as though there were 4 brunch choices, each of which were very overpriced. The 2 smoothies on the menu were also a let down. However I will say that if you just want to meet someone for a cappuccino, its not bad.

It wasn’t too long ago that Alfa made waves with its covered outdoor patio. Now they’re offering it as a weekend retreat where partiers can conquer their hangovers over a cozy French-inspired weekend brunch. Canadian Embassy Chef Billy Kawaja (in his weekend spare time) whips up tasty treats like super-satisfying eggs Benedict with smoked salmon, avocado and herb hollandaise (¥65), small and light lemon ricotta pancakes with seasonal berries (¥62) and a one-stop ticket to a sugar-high, the chocolate brioche French toast with caramelized bananas (¥65). Top that off with a fresh smoothie (¥35), cappuccino (¥30) or their signature CSL Bloody Mary (¥50), and not only will you forget your post-party blues, but you’ll be recharged for another night on the town, or (shudder) for the week ahead.
