Really fancy atmosphere at affordable price! I have only tried the lunch menu, which is a real bargain (58 to 88 RMB for starter/main/desert/soda or café). The food is not traditionnal french but meant to be "creative", and even if I'm always a bit reluctant to this kind of "modern cuisine", I have to admit that the majority of what we ordered was tasty and original. The dishes are all very well presented. The portions are not what we can call big, but if you have a menu, you'll be full for sure! The waiters are nice, always there when you need them but not staring at you all the time like in some other places. I would definetly recommend it for "modern french cuisine" experience! (even though, as cynthjeany mentionned above, there's always an asian food option on the menu for those who are not familiar with snails or other delicacies!) :-)

La Gauche is normally a very good, and affordable place. Couldn't write anything bad about it. OK; the service is to be worked on... Why in the world does it go wrong on the special days like this holiday?! The set-lunch was all of a sudden 3 times as expensive, and the choice was about half as much... I know this is 'standard procedure' in Beijing,but I hoped this restaurant would be an exception! Silly me...

A pretty interesting restaurant with 15 VIP rooms rooms of individual designs. (or as described, "different modern and multiple culture style) that gives you a different dining experience. Simple and romantic dining room, classic Chinese style, luxury continent style, etc. Not bad for their business lunch set, their soup is pretty nice too. It'd be great if the waitress can get all the dishes promptly and finish all the salting and peppering in a timely manner... Service is definitely something to work on for La Gauche. Lunch Set range from RMB 38 to RMB 88. Dinner Set (RMB 188 - RMB 588) Oh yeah, say it's French, you get to eat burger or even fried noodles (in Japanese style, shuuush) for lunch. lol
