Located on the top floor of The Place, this place's culinary offerings run the gamut of the Asian continent (and its Indian subcontinent). Most dishes are served up buffet style, but at RMB198 for lunch and RMB238 for dinner, they don't come cheap.

Description -
A buffet experience on an enormous scale! For RMB198 (at lunch) and RMB 238 (at dinner) you get a choice of over 400 separate dishes including Thai, Indian, Korean, Taiwanese, Cantonese, Chinese, Western and Japanese. A lot of the food is prepared to order and was very good quality. Of special note was the beef tenderloin with goose liver which melted in the mouth, the authentic Taiwanese noodles and the huge range of fresh seafood. Included in the price is a huge range of drinks including soft drinks, fruit juices, teas (more than 15 types!), coffees, draft beer, cocktails, wine and mao tai. The retaurant is quite enormous with quite a modern up market feel. The live band and sheer volume of people (customers and staff) give the place a noisy atmosphere. Not a place for an intimate meal for two, but well worth a visit if you are with a group of hungry friends who can't decide what to eat.

The food here is mediocre at best. I'm a bit biased though, because I dislike buffets and most seafood.

Not sure why Chinese like this place so much. I think one reason is to show off to your date that you can afford it, and the other is to pig out. And if you wish to see Chinese pigging out big time (and wasting mountains of food in the process), then this is the place to go. Expect to see plates with seafood, meat, fruit and cake lumped together in one big unculinary mess. This is about gluttony, not food appreciation. As for the restaurant, their love is for profit with the food quality and the service both being mediocre at best. You can eat your fill with far better quality food in Beijing for the same amount of money or less!

this is a place to go every time i want to eat all you can eat abalone, crabs, shark fin soup, herb chicken soup, all those expensive foods that i used to pay a lot for them when i was in my country. so 200 is a lot, yes, i agree, but its worth it, i would say coz u can eat as much as ur stomach can take. not a place where i would go really often... just occasionally.
