This little gem, hidden in faraway Fengtai (tierra incognita for most Beijing expats) has been serving up authentic German food since 1999. Dark wood paneling and a genuine five meter copper beer vat above the bar complement the excellent service and terrific food put together by chefs trained in Germany. Top it all off with a beer garden, and you've got yourself the genuine German article.

This is a nicely done restaurant with a beer hall feel serving lots of traditional German favourites. Pricing is a little high although food quality is very good. We had Liver Sausage (pate) (RMB 32), Cabanossi (RMB 32), Baked Oysters (RMB 65) and Hungarian Goulash Soup (RMB 32) all of which were delicious. The restaurant also gave two loaves of lightly toasted tasty ‘German’ bread with the starters, which was a pleasant change from the normally overly sweet fare you can buy locally.
The Baked Pork Knuckle was what you expect and the crackling was crisp and delicious, if not a little decadent (RMB 128). The nicest dish was the Pan-fried Sirloin (178) and the total bill including and nice bottle of red wine, two coffees and a schnapps was RMB 1058 for four. A place I would definitely go back to.
Oh yes... the staff were pleasant and efficient.
