Oriental Taipan Cafe specializes in the cuisine of Macau - a blend of southern Chinese and Portuguese food with nuances of Southeast Asian cuisines. It is one of the lesser known (but no less remarkable) old world fusion cuisines and the only East-West fusion unique to China.
Our specialties include Bacalhau (Portuguese salted cod fish), Stir-fry Curry Whole Crab, Macanese Curry, Baked Coconut Chicken, and of course, Macau's famous snack, the Pork Chop Bun. Chef Huang is also well-versed in the cuisine of Hong Kong and makes its classic "tea cafe" style cuisine available.
Our dining room is a casual environment - with round table family-style seating for parties of 6 or more and intimate booths for 2 or more - and it is reflected in our reasonable prices.
The restaurant also serves beer, wine, and cocktails from OT Lounge, where great live jazz, delicious cocktails, and savory food make us a one-stop destination for a refreshingly civilized night about town.

Oriental Taipan - the spa - is famous for catering to patrons' sense of touch. Around the corner from the spa, Oriental Taipan - the cafe - seeks to dazzle patrons' sense of taste with an offering of Macaunese and Portuguese dishes. With leather chairs, and hazel-hued tables scattered around cushy green booths, the space is clean and modern. The baked broccoli Portuguese style (¥22) came delightfully al dente under a thick layer of velvety cheese. The baked chicken rice (¥32) in a rich, curry stew was so tender the meat melted off the bones. The roast whole sardine, a traditional Macau snack, retained a fresh, natural flavor balanced nicely with a mildly spicy pepper and garlic sauce. Food from the cafe can be delivered to the neighboring spa, for those who want to indulge several senses at once.
