City Weekend Says

This Indian eatery has made a name for itself in Beijing, serving up a menu of authentic flavors in a colorful, Bollywood-themed décor at modest prices. The massive menu is filled with delectable treats, like the addictive lamb and spinach curry and tasty stuffed naans.

City Weekend Review

Ganges is a good restaurant, and its latest branch in Hairun is no exception. Over the past few years, the chain has made a name for itself by serving up authentic Indian cuisine (and lots of it: their menu will soon boast 348 items). Its great prices and imported ingredients have built a loyal follow. Add to this Indian trinkets, chandeliers, indoor ponds and the swankest Bollywood dance floor in Beijing (coming Fall) and the outcome will obviously be good.

Then there’s the food. Good, hearty, delicious. The non-vegetarian barbecue (¥78) was a savory haven for meat lovers; the butter chicken (¥48) a well seasoned treat and the palak paneer (¥44) chock-full of tender cottage cheese (made fresh every morning) remains a personal favorite for a very delicious reason.
