This small yakitori shop features plush leather seats, J-pop on the airwaves and friendly, attentive waitstaff. The food's not stunning, but it's decent and very reasonably priced. Try the fried oysters or the octopus balls.
Relax and enjoy a pint of beer after work Monday to Friday from 5:30pm to 7:30pm at Tan Yakitori Bar and get two for the price of one (RMB10- CHEAPEST BEER IN TOWN)! Authentic Japanese Yakitori (chargrilled kebab skewers) and a large selection of alcoholic beverages from wine to the Japanese sake are served. The staff is friendly and they speak English!

3.5/5 Stars
With a comfortable decor and a menu that won’t bust the bank, Tan Yakitori nicely bridges the gap between Sanlitun’s high-end eateries and its dives and chuan’r stands. This small yakitori shop takes its cues from similar establishments throughout Japan, featuring plush leather seats, J-pop on the airwaves and friendly, attentive waitstaff. The food, while neatly prepared and presented, could use a bit of marinade. The chicken thigh and onion skewers (¥10 for two) are perfectly cooked, but a bit bland. The fried oysters (¥38) and the octopus balls (¥20) are spot on. We washed it all down with large bottles of Asahi and Kirin beer (¥15). In general, it’s a great place for reasonably priced pre-party nibbles and drinks.
