A luxurious Teppanyaki style Japanese dining experience, catering only to private parties for the ultimate in dining exclusivity. Try the Kobe beef for quite possibly the best steak of your life, but come with full wallets: the starting price for a set menu is RMB1,000.

The Boardroom is one of Block 8's 6 distinct venues: An exclusive Teppanyaki style Japanese dining experience. Secluded from the main venues, this hideaway is sensual, sophisticated and mysterious. The only private dining room of its kind in Beijing with a private bar and VIP restroom is the perfect location for those who revel in a luxurious and privileged world. With a sense of luxury and style The Boardroom is an elegant private room, for an exclusive meal from an extensive list of lavish ingredients, the highest end wines and champagnes, as well an exclusive stairway to The Beach.

Absolutely rocking. Check out our photo slide show here: http://www.cityweekend.com.cn/beijing/articles/blogs-beijing/the-dish-bj/the-boardroom/

For the non-plutocrats among us, any discussion of The Boardroom, an ultra-swank enclave sequestered in an unassuming corner of the Block 8 compound, must begin and end with the price of entry; set menus start at YY1,000 per person and proceed skyward. For nearly everyone, that’s likely where the discussion will end. However, for anyone who doesn’t immediately recoil at the thought of dropping a grand on one meal, the question must be asked: “What does my thousand kuai buy me?” The short answer is, “Exclusivity, and amazing steak.” The Boardroom is exclusive to such a degree that it’s difficult to even call it a restaurant. Imagine someone took the living room of a spacious art deco bachelor pad then dropped in a teppanyaki grill and a polished wooden table of (appropriately enough) boardroom dimensions, and you’ll have about the right idea. As far as the steak is concerned, deep-pocketed carnivores should be ecstatic. Within the confines of the aforementioned grill and table, meat-based miracles happen. This reviewer and everyone else present declared the Kobe beef teppanyaki “the best steak I’ve ever eaten”. While other menu items, including a delectable Indonesian tiger prawn and an exquisitely-presented Japanese o-toro, didn’t quite rise to such divine heights, should you have the requisite kitty, we feel comfortable saying it will be one of your more memorable dining experiences.
