Named after the women in Malaysia who married southern Chinese men, the restaurant delivers a great blend of Malay flavors with Chinese influences, as well as a spread of other Southeast Asian cuisines. Don't miss the Malaysian hokkein mee, a specialty from Kuala Lumpur. This branch is three times as large as the Wangjing location.

Wonderful nyonya food as always. All the signature dishes from their first shop is available here, PLUS they have a longer menu offerings and topped with some western favourites to cater to various palates. It's children friendly, so all the Shunyi residence should really check this venue out.

This shop is triple the size of their first shop, catering to some 120 seatings comfortably! Decoration reflects the nyonya history yet with the comfort of any modern restaurant. The main hall is great for corporate functions as well as private parties (it can easily accomodate 100 people seated and still have room for pre-dinner cocktails!)

    Tropical Tastes

Little Nyonya’s second branch serves mostly authentic and very affordable Malaysian dishes. Service and décor are both pleasant, making it a good choice for those who live in the villas nearby. With light yellow as its main tone, and decorated with banana plants, Little Nyonya looks like a typical Malaysian restaurant. It is very clean and is also non-smoking. Despite the fact that the restaurant was quite chilly on our visit, the light pop music and flowers on the table created a comfortable and relaxing atmosphere. Service is excellent. The waitresses introduce the menu patiently and make good recommendations. Courses were served in order, with a few minutes’ interval in between. The recommended appetizers are the kueh paiti (¥32), cooked white carrot wrapped in crispy thin dough, and Nyonya tofu (¥25), a cake made from tofu, shrimp and fish. Dipped in the fantastic secret recipe sweet-and-sour sauce, each mouthful was a pure injection of happiness. The sambal kangkong (¥36), spinach cooked with shrimp paste, is just average, but the quantity is worth the price. The red curry chicken (¥42) is another popular dish. Although the materials are sourced locally, there is no tampering with the flavor. The curry has a reddish-yellow color, a milky coconut scent and a very exotic flavor. It also tastes richer than the curry at Thai restaurants such as Banana Leaf or Lemon Leaf. While it’s not overly spicy, we recommended ordering it with rice or noodles (around ¥40) to balance the heat. The restaurant still can’t accept credit cards or print fapiao, but there’s a 10 percent discount that will continue until after the Spring Festival. There are also special meal sets for students who attend the nearby international schools.
