This casual-chic restaurant boasts an al fresco dining area and some of the city's best cuisine by Chef Daniel Urdaneta, served by helpful and attentive wait staff. It is a great place for a first date where you can impress without going overboard.
I was happily surprised to find this restaurant in the newly opened Nali Patio mall in Sanlitun. The food is lovely and the restaurant has a very nice design, simple but yet elegant. I have been there now for both lunch and dinner and was very pleased with the selections of courses on the menu. Try the Tuna Tartar, the Fois Gras or Beef Tenderloin, and the Hazelnut Parfait is a must! It isn't easy to find a restaurant with both nice decoration, great food and atmosphere in Beijing but this restaurant has it all!
Romancing the Palate
Bustling with life round the corner of the new Nali Studio in Sanlitun, Mosto is sure to become a mainstay on the fine dining scene. Diners on the outdoor deck are privileged with a perfect view of the courtyard, and a great vantage point to people-watch. Inside diners can check out what’s going on in the open kitchen or get romantic as candlelight flickers on the exposed brick walls. We started our meal with the salmon tiraditos (¥55) and a bottle of Chiaro pinot grigio (¥185). The salmon was fresh and beautifully presented, and the wine was a fine accompaniment. For our main course, we tried truffled red wine risotto (¥115) and beef tenderloin with chanterelle mushrooms (¥155). Both were impeccably executed and well-portioned. After such a fine meal, we anticipated an equally excellent dessert and were not disappointed. The chocolate soufflé (¥60) came with raspberry sauce and an interesting mint-flavored ice cream that had us licking our spoons despite being completely and wonderfully stuffed. All in all, Mosto is a welcome addition to Beijing. We’ll be returning for seconds.
