Fans of Tex-Mex bemoan the conspicuous absence of nachos, but real Mexican connoisseurs call this sleek place ,"buenisimo." The shrimp fajitas and chicken quesadillas are sublime, not to mention the generous helpings of guacamole. Be forewarned, however; the menu is only in Spanish and Chinese.

Description

An authentic Mexican restaurant. The restaurant has an impressive pedigree, with 27 of them already in Mexico. Fans of Tex-Mex may bemoan the absence of nachos, but real connoisseurs have already called this place “buenisimo.” Although not easy to find in the maze-like Wanda complex, the rich reds and mahoganies and the upstairs loft dining area make this restaurant very inviting. The servers are friendly and knowledgeable and if you having trouble choosing from the extensive selection, chef Roberto will pop out of the kitchen to assist you.

Finally (big sigh) Beijing has got an authentic Mexican restaurant. As a starter the chicarron de queso (¥18), or fried cheese with guacamole and two kinds of spicy sauce, was fantastic. As a follow-up, the shrimp fajitas (¥78) were sublime, as were the chicken quesadillas (¥32). A nice glass of red wine to complemented the meal will only set you back ¥30. The guacamole flows freely here, so don’t worry about snooty servers knocking back your requests for more, more, more. We went through five bowls before calling it a day, our guacamole thirst finally quenched. -CR

Excelent!!!!! This is not a Tex-Mex restaurant... it's real Mexican food... as good as the original in Mexico City. Without a doubt is the favorite of the Mexican community in Beijing.

It is NOT for "quenching guacamole cravings" Guacamole is not excellent like people said. Red and yellow sauces are tasteless.

The tacos are great but guacamole is average and the carne asada fries are extremely questionable - the strips of steak that they piled on top of the fries were biggers than the pieces of fries! Also, I found it odd that they gave guests free chips that were extremely spicy and then when you ask for non-spicy chips, they want to charge you 20rmb!

The most disappointing part though was the service which was extremely lacking! After we tried a few pieces of the extremely spicy chips they serve, we had to basically harrass the waitress before she finally remembered to bring us water - maybe a ploy to get you to buy more drinks? Oh, and also, the cashier tried to CHARGE US A FEE TO TAKE AN ISSUE OF That's Beijing! It's a free magazine! I was outraged.

Muy Bien! This i as close as you can get to Mexican food in China! Best Dishes: Tacos al Pastor, Gringas, Tinga de Pollo, Torta de Pastor, Chilaquiles, Parrillada.

Need to improve: Sopa Azteca, Burrito (too small!)

All in all best mexican restaurant in Beijing!

PS: How about giving 20% discount to mexican nationals?...just a thought...

Delicious authentic Mexican food. The portions a little small though, but doesn't matter much, just order the pork Tacos with pineapple for only 18RMB to get stuffed. The ambiance is modern and simple with an open kitchen, and thank god not like some wanna be Tex-Mex theme restaurant in Sanlitun.

Was bitterly disappointed the first time I came here. Portions were small, expensive, and unappetizing. Since then, not sure what's happened, but there's been a steady improvement each time I've made a trip back. Maybe I've just completely forgotten what decent Mexican food tastes like, but last time I was there was genuinely pleased with everything I ordered. The manager's from Mexico, and he seems to have everything running pretty shipshape.

Also, they've revamped the menu. It now sports English, so that the Chinese/Spanish impaired laowai/gringo can now order with confidence.
