The Lone Star State endures in this Tex-Mex style restaurant, featuring colorful Mexican mural and chairs adorned with the symbol of Texas. Especially recommended are the chimichangas, the fluffy American-style pancakes and the pie of the day, freshly made a la mode. A favorite of expats after the taste of home.

Update: This place does NOT have Wifi. They borrow from their neighbors. I went there this morning for breakfast and email, found 'their' wireless network, but the wireless router wasn't connected to the internet.
I asked the two morning shift people about it and they said "The wireless is sometimes up, sometimes down" When pressed to reset their router to see if it would fix things, they explained that it wasn't really their wifi, so they couldn't do anything about it.
Total cost of finding this out: RMB 70.
CityWeekend editor's should definitely remove the wifi mark from this venue.

Peter's restaraunt is great. They don't have a sign out front so if you are looking for it the door is the second to last door going towards the Lido Hotel area. Peter's does have their own wifi, but they are having problems with the past few weeks during Aug 07 and need to get it fixed. They just tell people for ease to use the neighbors wifi.

Hope they post something when it gets fixed. Until then, I won't be heading back.

great mexican food and friendly service! the burritos and salads are yummy and the ice tea has free refills! I wouldn't recommend the 7-layer dip though, it only about a total of one inch thick - extremely small compared to what I'm used to back home and not what I was expecting considering the cost (around 45 rmb)...tasty none the less!

Saturday mornings consist of a Texas Whopper cheeseburger and a peanut butter milkshake from Peter's Tex-Mex Grill. It's a slam-dunk of a combination that will leave you satisfied.
Peter's Tex-Mex Grill is more "Tex" than "Mex," but it's one of the better places to get western-styled meals and portions.
Over the past month, Tex-Mex has raised the price of its meat entrees, almost 10 kuai depending on what one orders.
If you're in a hurry, try and get a table downstairs; there are more waiters and waitresses. Upstairs typically has one or two staff personnel on hand. But if you're not in a rush, the quiet second floor and comforting couches provide a great environment for a lazy afternoon.

lately came here instead of to the one at jianguomen since its closer to my place. as what i wrote for the one at jianguomen. good burritos, good nachos, good cordon bleu, good salad. their portion are big. good value for money. oh, and i love their pancake with maple syrup so much.

Peter’s Tex Mex new resto in Lido is layed out like the cucina of a rambling hacienda. Bright colors and rustic murals adorn the walls. There are spotless white cupboards, an open-plan bar and a play pen for the kiddies. The waitstaff wear lonestar shirts and are adept at servicing the predominantly foreign clientele. The menu is thick, sticks to standard, Americanized Mexican dishes and with huge portions and numerous desserts is geared toward families. Start with the nine-layer dip (RMB56). It sounds heavy, but it’s not. The Texan burrito (RMB48) was just a burrito, so instead go for a chimichanga (RMB69), moist and packed with flavors. There’s also a kid’s menu with scaled down portions and prices for the ninos. Peter’s is, at heart, a family joint, because you’ll need a little haizi qi to guiltlessly go for their many desserts. We loved the chocolate mint milkshake (RMB22), eaten with a spoon. The Mexican fried ice cream (RMB25), however, despite the caramel drizzle, is just a scoop of vanilla with chewy corn flakes pasted on it. There’s a breakfast menu (pancakes for RMB26) and happy hour prices on margaritas every day from 5:30-7pm. -LAM
