It's good. I don't understand why there aren't more people at this Wednesday night thing. Unlimited Margies for less than 150rmb per person and it's all-u-can-eat tex mex. Note to critics, this is not supposed to be traditional mexican fair, it is american style bar tex mex, which is great to pad your stomoach before drinking. Problem is, the entire area is a fking parking lot after 6pm. Good luck getting there. Traffic is one of Beijing's entertainment establishments biggest problems. People cannot get to your venue. Where is eveyone always driving to? Leave the car, take the subway!

The Southerner kind of music and Roadhouse atmosphere was enjoyable.. Decent food and a fun night of pool, even with a little girl (kids friendly restaurant?) Most guys went there for the darts and a couple of beer. Very friendly staff too!

wish they had the chicken cesar that Tim's Texas BBQ offered, but they made up for it with darts and pool....still make a good margarita and offer good American microbrews!

We're in the process of consolidating the menu's between Bar-B-Q and Roadhouse. Want to make sure we keep quality of both BBQ and Tex-Mex high while we phase this in, but you should see that Chicken Caesar ( and BBQ, too!) at Roadhouse soon!

sounds good! I look foreward to it. Another request, since you're already importing from Rogue brewery, Dead Guy is always good to have available ;-)

Good BBQ, good people, great music (especially if youre a Southern Girl like me!). Anyway, I wish there was more vinegar based BBQ, BUT its better than that OTHER south of the border place called the Saddle....

The Super Bar Street at Nuren Jie, is a wild accumulation of different restaurants and sleazy bars. However the area has some highlights not to be missed out, such as the second hand market directly located in the bar street or the near by Laitai Flower Market, also some of the restaurants there are worth a visit.

Tim's Texas Roadhouse is one of them, walking down the dusty, sometimes deserted, backdrop like Super Bar Street is the perfect setting to get in the mood for a hearty dinner and a bucket of drinks. The spacious restaurant is located on the second floor, it is nicely decorated and has a rustic chic. It was surprisingly crowded at the beginning but the music was a bit too loud, yet in the end it's roadhouse and not a fancy restaurant.

The food was fresh, well prepared and very delicious. The rib-eye steak served with a big side salad was done to order, very tender and a real treat, only the baked potato was a little disappointing, the consistence was more chewy than flaky like it should be but the great topping made up for it. The crispy spicy deep fried catfish was not greasy at all and delicious as well. A nice selection of beers and cocktails is offered, if you cant make up your mind go for the fabulous Margarita.

Last but not least, the service was very friendly, quick and attentive.

I'll be back.

The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly.

The Good: The staff greeted us with smiling faces. Their English was good. They repeated my order back to me. I understood everything they said to me, and they understood everything I said. They were polite and friendly. In a word, delightful.

The Bad: We went on a Friday night. They had a special, Ribeye, Filet, or BBQ for ¥150. I picked the Ribeye, medium-rare. It was the worst "Ribeye" that I have ever tried to eat. It was raw on one end, and medium on the other, so I guess that means on the average it was medium-rare. The cut was not that of a Ribeye. I think it was an old Water Buffalo that got hit by a bus. Too bad the bus didn't help tenderize it. As I chewed away, the small hunk of flesh in my mouth grew bigger and bigger, and bigger. I began to wonder, "Will I have to spit it out?" I try not to laugh, as I imagine the elastic-bouncy-ball cud flies around the bar, like a bullet ricochet in an old western, or a cartoon. The "Texaco Marfak Lubrication" sign that hangs on the wall to lend authenticity to the place, also helps me with the bus analogy. My cud (I won't call it a Ribeye anymore) tasted more like wheel-bearing grease than "Pecan" or "Mesquite" smoke. There really is a charred BBQ pit there, but someone should tell them not to burn old tires in it. For Tim to blather on about the amount of trouble he went through to get proper cuts of meat (in many articles easily found on the web), and to brag about his "only the best cuts of meat" on his menu, he really shouldn't serve up old Water Buffalo and call them steak. Tim either, shouldn't be trusted, or doesn't know where steak comes from.

The Ugly: As I write this, the price advertised at the top of this page is "Price Less than ¥99 per couple." Pshaw! Maybe if you bring your own water. I am not complaining about the prices (the prices are OK), but the advertising, (it's annoying). Expect to pay a minimum of 150-250 ¥ for two entrees and two drinks. Tim's website conveniently provides a menu with prices; if you'd like to check my work. The website menu's prices are similar to the prices on the menu.

This place is indeed an authentic Texas Road House. It has old Chevy pickup parts nailed to the wall, along with a few other relics. It has a few bras hanging from the rafters, but not enough to imply a really good party. It has a quite reasonable sound system. It has darts, and pool tables (probably purchased secondhand from a Texas roadhouse). And, football on TV (Australian rules, but what the hell.) It has a few regulars who run amok in the place, plugging their ipods (or zunes) into things they shouldn't. It is exactly like dozens of other road houses which could be found around Austin or College Station, whose parking lots are all full of Escalades, Hummers, and perfect brand-new Four-Wheel-Drive Ford Diesels complete with "Truck Nutz" and nary a scratch, nor a spot of dirt. It gets an "A-" in authenticity (it only needs graffiti carved into the tables, with pocket knives). I am reminded why I avoid them when I am stateside.

Hey Cullen - I'm terribly sorry that you had a bad steak. You can see by the numerous other [favorable] reveiws that we usually get it right. I have dropped the rib eyes from our regular steak selection until I can get a better marbled steak. It is frustrating to all of us when one samples a well marbled steak from a supplier, only to find the next batch not quite up to the standard of the sample. If you're still in Beijing, I treat you to one of our fillets. I'm sure you won't be disappointed.
